The first trailer for Aaron Sorkin‘s Moneyball has arrived today, giving us a better look at the film than we got with the first look yesterday. Brad Pitt stars as Oakland A’s general manager Billy Beane and is joined by a supporting cast that includes Jonah Hill, Philip Seymour Hoffman, Chris Pratt and Robin Wright.
I don’t have much interest in baseball but Moneyball looks pretty good. To be honest, I’d watch anything with a Sorkin script and a cast that boasts names like Brad Pitt and Philip Seymour Hoffman. Aside from that though, it looks like a truly heartfelt and interesting story. With Bennett Miller (Captoe) at the helm, combined with Sorkin writing and that cast in front of the camera, this one can definitely hold its breath for some Oscar noms.
Considering the film almost didn’t get made, I’d say it turned out pretty well from what we see here. It looks like Sorkin has managed to extract enough drama from the story to make for a compelling watch. Check out the trailer below and see what you think.
