New Trailer For The Artist

A silent film is seldom found in these modern movie-making days. Sure, there are silent segments in certain films, but a full-length movie featuring no audio aside from music doesn’t always get a lot of publicity. But now, for the first time in God knows how long, one is getting recognition and has a powerful trailer to go along with it.

The Artist has already had an international trailer released but this marks the first release of an American trailer. It’s the same trailer, but it’s just marketed for a different country.

Set some time between 1927 and 1931 and shot entirely in black and white, The Artist takes place in Hollywood and tells the story of a declining male star and a rising female star. This begins to happen when silent cinema is on the verge of fading away and soon to be replaced by movies with dialogue and sound.

The cast includes Jean Dujardin, Berenice Bejo, John Goodman and James Cromwell. It has already made its debut at the Cannes Film Festival, which is where Dujardin won Best Actor for his role, and will make its U.S. debut on November 23rd.

Are you ready to embrace a black and white silent film? Check out the trailer below and tell us your thoughts in the comments.
