After all the build up and anticipation, the second trailer for Marvel’s The Avengers has been released. While previous footage has shied away from the story, this new trailer expands on the plot a bit more, though it’s still careful not to give too much away. It does do a good job at setting the stage though.
In addition to more plot reveals, there’s also the expected amount of awesome action shots, like the one featuring Hulk saving a falling Iron Man. After watching the trailer, I think it’s safe to say that the budget of roughly $300 million was well spent.
I should also mention that while I’m opposed to the idea of post-production 3D, The Avengers looks like it will feature some exciting scenes that will likely be able to take advantage of the format. Plus, once you add in the IMAX, you can be sure that audiences will be in for quite the ride.
The Avengers opens on May 4, 2012 and you can check out the new trailer below.
