Only a few days ago Focus Features announced a release date of January 10th for James Franco‘s Hart Crane biopic The Broken Tower. Today, we have a trailer, poster and synopsis for the film.
The synopsis for the film is as follows:
“From Focus World and director/star James Franco, a film about visionary poet Hart Crane, who lived a life of beauty, passion, and tragedy. Hart Crane was one of the most important voices in American poetry – but lived a life with as much turmoil as passion. From his early life to his journeys from New York, Cuba, and Paris, Crane’s story and that of the loves that defined him is told with imaginative empathy, and with a no holds barred performance – in a film as introspective, rebellious, heartbreaking, and honest as Crane himself.”
The trailer gives us a look at how beautifully the black and white film has been shot and gives us a look at the picturesque scenery as well as introducing us to several of the characters.
Interestingly, the trailer says the film will now be available on January 3rd, instead of the original January 10th. Focus Features’ website has a January 1st release date for the film though so I’m not sure which source to go by, but I think Focus Features may be the safest bet.
Personally I cannot wait to see the film, it is one of my most anticipated as I’m a fan of Franco and Cranes and the sooner I can see this the better.
The Broken Tower stars James Franco, Michael Shannon, Stacey Miller, Vince Jolivette and Dave Franco, and will be avaliable for digital download on iTunes and Movies On Demand on January 1st.
