The first trailer for Taken 2 has arrived today and it looks positively badass, as expected. It sees Liam Neeson returning to the genre that he’s become known for and to be honest, I think he’s pulling it off very well, even in his old age.
Olivier Megaton is stepping into the director’s chair for this outing and seeing as the director showed he was capable of handling fast paced and exhilarating action with both Transporter 3 and Colombiana, I think the film is in capable hands. Plus, Neeson is returning and to be honest, as long as he’s in the film, that’s all we really need
All in all, it looks like a ton of fun and being a big fan of the first film, I’m looking forward to this one. I’m not sure if I’m totally on board with the premise just yet as it sounds a bit too similar to the first film but that aside, I don’t think we have too much to worry about. We get to see Liam Neeson kick ass and take names, what more could you want?
Taken 2 hits theatres on October 5th, check out the trailer below.

Liam Neeson returns as Bryan Mills, a retired CIA agent with a very particular set of skills that he acquired over a very long career who stopped at nothing to save his daughter Kim from Albanian kidnappers. When Murad, the father of one of the kidnappers killed by the elite ex-CIA man over a year ago, swears revenge on Bryan and takes his wife hostage during their family vacation in Istanbul, Bryan enlists Kim to help find her mother and help her escape, while Bryan uses his brutal special forces tactics to save his family and systematically take out the kidnappers one by one. Bryan is in a race against time to save himself and his wife from certain death. With the help of Kim, Bryan must move throughout Istanbul past the kidnappers and into safety…. or die trying.
