Hot Rod, an old-school Autobot and Bumblebee’s long-time brother-in-arms, is set to appear in Michael Bay’s blockbuster sequel, Transformers: The Last Knight.
Word comes by way of the official Transformers Twitter account, revealing a sleek, modernised version of this “brash [and] slightly arrogant” robot in disguise.
[zerg]One week on from unveiling the Decepticon Onslaught – it’ll roll onto the scene sporting the form of a green tow truck – Michael Bay has now turned the attention back to the Autobot camp to reveal Hot Rod.

Hot Rod pulls into a robotic roster that already boasts Bumblebee, Barricade, Drift, the all-new Sqweeks, Megatron and, of course, Optimus Prime. Earlier this week, we caught our first official look at our fearless leader going up toe-to-toe with a trio of dragons – that, or one Cerberus-like behemoth.
Switching gears from bot to humans, on board for Bay’s fifth entry into the effect-laden juggernaut are Tyrese Gibson, Josh Duhamel and Mark Wahlberg’s Cade Yeager. There are also roles for Isabela Moner and Anthony Hopkins, who is said to voice a new Transformers.
Transformers: The Last Knight is pegged to arrive on June 23, 2017. Mining inspiration from Paramount’s star-studded writers room, two new Transformers movies are expected to land across 2018 and 2019, with the former rumored to center around Bumblebee.
