At this point, who doesn’t want to see Justin Bieber and Tom Cruise trade blows? Indeed, the Internet was sent into a frenzy last week with the prospect of the two A-list celebs squaring off in the ring, with the whole thing becoming so big that it even caught the attention of UFC champion Conor McGregor, who’s since offered to host the fight.
And though we’re still waiting for an official response from the Top Gun star, UFC boss Dana White has revealed that Cruise would be down to wrestle with the Biebs. Given that this doesn’t come from the actor himself, we’ll just have to take White’s word for it, but in any case, here’s what he had to say about the fight:
“I’m not going to say any names, but I’m just going to tell you that I got a phone call from a couple of real guys who said that they really do want to do this fight and they believe that Tom Cruise would do the fight. And I told them, I’ll tell you this: If that’s true, and if everybody involved in this thing really wants to do it, we can talk.”
Of course, since issuing the initial challenge, Bieber has backed down, admitting that Cruise could probably kick his ass and revealing that the whole thing was just a joke. But with the Mission: Impossible star now seemingly down to trade blows, maybe Justin will change his mind?
Or maybe the whole thing was just a dumb stunt concocted by the Biebs so that Cruise would give him a cameo in Top Gun: Maverick? Honestly, who knows? But as this strange and oh so bizarre story continues to twist and turn, we’ll be sure to keep you posted on all the latest.
