It’s going on 10 years since Adam Green and Co. first launched their blood-drenched Hatchet series and still, the name Victor Crowley is enough to send a chill down our spine.
And now, after an extended hiatus, Green is getting the gang back together for a fourth instalment in the cult slasher series simply titled…Victor Crowley. Indeed, it was only last week when we brought you the news that Crowley had narrowed its release window to 2018, and today, the folks at Bloody Disgusting have gone one step further to nail down a specific date: February 6th, 2018.
That’s right, Dark Sky will unleash the demented, strangely deformed Victor Crowley upon Blu-ray, DVD and VOD just in time for Valentine’s Day, and if you’re curious, the official synopsis is as follows:
Set a decade after the events of the series’ first three films, Victor Crowley reunites Hatchet mainstays Kane Hodder (Friday the 13th 7 – X’s Jason Voorhees) and Parry Shen (Better Luck Tomorrow) for an all-new, horrifying journey into the haunted, blood-drenched bayou.
In 2007, forty-nine people were brutally torn to pieces in Louisiana’s Honey Island Swamp. Over the past decade, lone survivor Andrew Yong’s claims that local legend Victor Crowley was responsible for the horrific massacre have been met with great controversy, but when a twist of fate puts him back at the scene of the tragedy, Crowley is mistakenly resurrected and Yong must face the bloodthirsty ghost from his past.
So, there you have it; Victor Crowley will officially slice and dice its way onto Blu-ray and the like on February 6th. Meanwhile, the moody poster art, which adopts the blue/orange color scheme of DICE’s Battlefield series and throws a little hot-rod red (and Crowley!) in there for good measure, can be found below.
