And so, after a fortnight of teaser posters, featurettes and one-sheets, we now have the second – and likely final – full-length trailer for 20th Century Fox’s long-awaited standalone feature. Ryan Reynolds continues to bring Wade Wilson to life in a way that is almost effortless, and we have every faith that the 2016 release will be the most faithful interpretation of the Merc With a Mouth to date.

For those who are yet to be introduced to Marvel’s gun-toting, foul-mouthed anti-hero, Wade Wilson is a former special forces operative that agrees to partake in a rogue experiment as a last-ditch attempt to cure the cancer crippling his body. Things go awry, as movie experiments tend to do, and although Wilson is imbued with the power of accelerated healing, his face is left looking like an avocado having sex with an older avocado, to quote T.J. Miller’s Weasel – hence the blood-red guise.

Starring opposite T.J. Miller and Reynolds for the R-rated showdown are Haywire star Gina Carano, Morena Baccarin as Vanessa Carlysle, Ed Skrein, and Brianna Hildebrand as the inimitable Negasonic Teenage Warhead.

At long last, Deadpool is nearing its theaterical bow, with Miller’s standalone feature primed to roll out across North America on February 12, 2016. Until then, you can share your early impressions of today’s brand new trailer below.

Deadpool-1

Based upon Marvel Comics’ most unconventional anti-hero, Deadpool tells the origin story of former Special Forces operative turned mercenary Wade Wilson, who after being subjected to a rogue experiment that leaves him with accelerated healing powers, adopts the alter ego Deadpool. Armed with his new abilities and a dark, twisted sense of humor, Deadpool hunts down the man who nearly destroyed his life.
