Watch Beetee Hijack President Snow’s Panem Address In The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 1 Teaser

Lionsgate has been surprisingly quiet about this fall's The Hunger Games: Mockingjay - Part 1 over the past few weeks, but that's changing today with an all-new broadcast from Donald Sutherland's totalitarian President Snow. Last time Snow addressed the nation of Panem, a stone-faced Peeta (Josh Hutcherson) was by his side, and in this second teaser he's still there - as is fellow Quarter Quell participant Johanna Mason (Jena Malone), though Johanna's sassy arm positioning suggests that some of her trademark spunk has survived the Capitol's brain-washing.

Lionsgate has been surprisingly quiet about this fall’s  The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 1 over the past few weeks, but that’s changing today with an all-new broadcast from Donald Sutherland’s totalitarian President Snow. Last time Snow addressed the nation of Panem, a stone-faced Peeta (Josh Hutcherson) was by his side, and in this second teaser he’s still there – as is fellow Quarter Quell participant Johanna Mason (Jena Malone), though Johanna’s sassy arm positioning suggests that some of her trademark spunk has survived the Capitol’s brain-washing.

There’s a twist in this second address, however – just as Snow is launching into a speech about how Panem must stand as one united nation, a ghost in the machine appears. That’s tech whiz Beetee (Jeffrey Wright), who has succeeded in hijacking the signal from Snow’s broadcast. Speaking from the fabled District 13, long thought to have been annihilated by the Capitol, Beetee has a message for Panem’s population: “The mockingjay lives.”

That thrilling little teaser is sure to get Hunger Games fans in a tizzy. After the explosive finale of The Hunger Games: Catching Fire, in which protagonist Katniss Everdeen (Jennifer Lawrence) escaped the brutal Quarter Quell with the help of rebels including her mentor Haymitch (Woody Harrelson) and Gameskeeper Plutarch Heavensbee (Philip Seymour Hoffman), things are about to heat up for the titular mockingjay in a big way.

Check out the tease below, and let us know if you’ll be seeing The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 1 when it blazes into theaters on November 21st.
