*Insert another clever apocalyptic pun here.*
Fans of Edgar Wright and Simon Pegg have been following the slow meander towards the final installment of Wright’s loose Three Flavors Cornetto Trilogy. The trilogy began way back when with Shaun Of The Dead and Hot Fuzz. It’s been a long time in coming, but now we have word that the final installment, The World’s End, has had its US release day moved from late October to August 23, 2013.
Rejoice! I’m serious: rejoice. That’s a difference of two months, and that makes me incredibly happy. I did not want to have to wait that long while my UK friends talked endlessly about how awesome the movie was.
The World’s End stars Simon Pegg, Nick Frost, Paddy Considine, Martin Freeman and Eddie Marsan as five friends reuniting for an epic (and notorious) pub crawl in their hometown to try and reach The World’s End pub … presumably before the world actually ends. There will laughter, there will be tears, there will be lots and lots of beer. There will also be cornettos.
The World’s End will go up against The Mortal Instruments: City Of Bones and horror film You’re Next – which I guess means that we can expect it to do incredibly well, because I at least am barely aware of either.
I have personally been waiting anxiously for The World’s End ever since it was announced, and am truly thrilled that I’ll get a chance to actually see it. Always nice when a film gets moved up rather than delayed, which has been happening far too often in recent memory. So let’s all get excited! The apocalypse is coming!
Are you excited for The World’s End as I am? Can it possibly be as good as Hot Fuzz? Let us know in the comments.
