Who’s involved? Returning to the title role is Ben Affleck, who is ambitiously also directing and co-writing with Geoff Johns. Presumably the movie will also feature Jeremy Irons as Alfred, JK Simmons as Commissioner Gordon and Jena Malone (after her scenes were cut from BvS).
What’s it about? Nothing official has been said, but the word on the grapevine is that it will be titled The Batman and will adapt Under The Hood, which sees a murderous new vigilante in Gotham – one with connections to Batman’s past…
Verdict: Ben Affleck’s performance in Batman V Superman was one of the few aspects that was generally well-regarded. The prospect of a movie starring, directed and written by him is very enticing then and suggests a closer look at what makes the character tick – something we can’t wait to explore.
