According to MTV, Kings of Leon have announced their fifth album ‘Come Around Sundown’. The album will be hitting store shelves on October 19th. ‘Come Around Sundown’ will be a follow up to the wildly successful ‘Only By The Night’ which was the fourth album from the band. Angelo Petraglia and Jacquire King will be producing the album and recording began back in February 2010.
‘Only By The Night’ was a platinum selling album that had a few massive hits including Sex On Fire and Use Somebody. The band also took home four Grammy awards for the album.
In a recent interview with When The Gramophone Rings, Caleb Followill, the band’s lead singer, said the following about the new album:
“some of the saddest country songs you’ve ever heard, but mixed with some of the hippest melodies we’ve ever done. It’s beat driven and heavy, but then there’ll be a country song that’ll tear your heart out. And no pop.”
This is an album I’m really looking forward to. Their last album was amazing and it really helped put the band on the map. Hopefully they can follow up with an even better album and keep their momentum going.
