Between the release of his debut album and a highly publicized performance at the Ericcson Globe in his hometown of Stockholm, Sweden, it’s safe to assert that 2015 was a landmark year for Alesso. While it seems like he may have been taking a breather for the latter portion of this year’s festival season, announcements from his camp reveal that he plans to make moves next year as well.
For starters, it sounds like Alesso plans to take a page out of fellow Swede Eric Prydz’ book by releasing an EP series in 2016. The music will be accompanied by art and music videos that fit the “less is more” motif that the superstar DJ/producer aims to embody, and he will be reducing the number of gigs he plays across the globe in an attempt to redouble the production values of each one.
As of right now, though, he’s confirmed two performances at Sweden’s Summerburst Festival – one in Gothenburg and one in Stockholm – marking his celebrated return to the event series after taking two years off.
While we’re excited to see what Alesso brings to the table for his upcoming EP series, we want to know if you’re looking forward to the efforts as well. Sound off in the comments section below and let us know.
