The Black Eyed Peas are returning in a big way. Even though the pop group hasn’t released an album in nearly six years, they’ve decided to get together for a special remix of their hit, “Where is the Love?”
The remix arrives after over 13 years since the release of the original single, when it debuted in June of 2003. The song, featuring Justin Timberlake, went on to peak at number eight on the Billboard Hot 100 and sold over a million copies. Timberlake is on the remix, too, but this time he’s joined by many others. The star studded list of guests includes names such as Mary J. Blige, Jessie J, Ty Dolla $ign, and Usher, while the music video features additional guests like Lance Bass, Shailene Woodley, and Kendall Jenner.
While the original “Where is the Love?” was made in response to the 9/11 attacks, the new version has a similar message behind it. Group member Will.i.am says that after the recent tragedies in Paris, Belgium, Orlando, and others, they wanted to come back with the track after people were calling for the song’s resurgence.
The Black Eyed Peas‘ “Where is the Love?” remix and video are now available on iTunes. Proceeds will benefit will.i.am’s i.am.angel Foundation, which helps create college scholarships for underprivileged youth.
