The Chainsmokers have reached numerous milestones in 2016, and they can now add one more to the list. The NYC-based duo recently released a 360-degree video of a performance of their February track “Don’t Let Me Down,” and the very same track has now officially reached the #1 spot on Shazam’s US charts.
Disruptor Records brought to the attention of The Chainsmokers’ fanbase that their track has beaten those by Drake, Justin Timberlake, Calvin Harris and Mike Posner to sit at the #1 spot. The chart does’t rank each song by total number of Shazams, but rather by their frequency at a given time, which better illustrates how a song is trending.
Needless to say, over the past two years The Chainsmokers have succeeded in redefining themselves after garnering the reputation of a gimmick for their 2014 track, “#SELFIE.” The duo are sure to release more definitive songs now that festival season is in full swing, too, so be sure to keep an eye on them in the coming months.
