Maarten Vorwerk is a man who’s made a career out of allowing other “artists” to appropriate his music and push it as their own. Despite opting for the anonymous role of ghost producer in the dance music community, he’s gained a bit of notoriety as one of the biggest purveyors of the shady practice in the industry, and has allegedly produced music for DVBBS, Quintino, Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike and more.
Though he generally prefers to stay out of the spotlight, Vorwerk is drawing some attention to himself on social media as he kicks off a troll campaign for DJ Mag’s annual Top 100 DJs list. After all, it’s likely that a number of DJs from past years achieved their spot on the list due to Vorwerk’s music, so it only makes sense that he would throw his name into the mix.
Maarten Vorwerk‘s campaign for the DJ Mag Top 100 DJs list may be satirical in nature, but it’s helping to keep the discussion around ghost producing going, following up on Ashley Wallbridge’s own conversation starter on the topic from last week. We’ll just have to wait and see how he ranks once the results are in.
