Last week, Steve Aoki announced his 4OKI EP, a four part collection of songs and accompanying music videos. Following up on his collaboration with Autoerotique on “ILYSM,” Aoki has returned to deliver a new single and clip, this time enlisting the assistance of Canadian producer Shaun Frank on “Dope Girlz.”
Musically, “Dope Girlz” is a hard hitting house banger with grungy bass synths and powerful rhythms. The new single has plenty of club friendly energy and a surprisingly quality production, continuing a trend from the Autoerotique collab of seemingly owing more to the featured artist than Aoki himself.
The video for “Dope Girlz,” meanwhile, features a basic party concept captured in striking black and white, as Aoki DJs in an intimate club setting.
