What is it about bass music DJs and over-the-top back-to-back sets (OTTB2Bs, perhaps) this year? Anonymous DJ/producer Marshmello performed at Omnia nightclub’s one year anniversary celebration in San Diego recently and a handful of the genre’s most decorated talent accompanied him onstage to turn the occasion into a full-on spectacle.
Skrillex and Getter come into frame in the beginning of the video in the Facebook embed above, at which point Marshmello drops an as-yet-unidentified ID. Jauz and Ookay follow soon after, and an ID by the latter artist finds its way into the track list in between Barely Alive’s “Damn Daniel” and French Montana’s “Pop That.”
The stunt calls to mind a similar one pulled off by Jauz at the beginning of the year in which he kicked off The Friendzy Tour by bringing Skrillex, Diplo, Kill The Noise, TJR, Ookay, What So Not, Getter, Alvin Risk, Aryay and Dirtyphonics onstage with him during a performance at the Fonda Theater in Hollywood. Sorry, Marshmello, but it was definitely cooler when Jauz did it.
Nonetheless, it’s safe to assume that those in attendance were not disappointed by the surprise that Marshmello dropped on them during his performance at Omnia Nightclub in San diego.
