According to recent reports, legendary actor Robert De Niro is just as busy off-screen as he is on. The Academy Award winner has just become a father for the seventh time, though the mother’s identity remains unknown.
Even though there is a 51-year gap between Robert De Niro’s oldest kid and his new child, the 79-year-old actor seems ecstatic about being a father again, breaking the news to ET Canada during an interview to promote his film About My Father.
While being interviewed by Brittnee Blair, who started a question by saying: “I know you have six kids, “The Godfather Part II actor casually mentioned the newcomer, saying: “Seven, actually. I just had a baby,” he added.
The actor also discussed his love language with ET Canada, revealing how he balances being a loving dad while also being strict.
“I mean, there’s no way around it with kids. I don’t like to have to lay down the law and stuff like that. But, sometimes you just have no choice,” the actor stated. “And any parent, I think, would say the same thing. You always want to do the right thing by the children and give them the benefit of the doubt but sometimes you can’t.”
With ex-wife Diahnne Abbott, De Niro has a son, Raphael, and he adopted her daughter, Drena De Niro, 51. Then, he and Toukie Smith, a fashion model, had twins. He also has a daughter, born in 2011, and a son, Elliot, born in 1998, with his most recent ex-wife, Grace Hightower. Additionally, De Niro is a grandfather to four children.
