Now that season three of 90 Day Fiancé UK has drawn to a close, there has been a significant break between filming for the reality series wrapping and the present day. With the reunion episode wrapped, the couples have had some time away from the cameras to consider how their on-screen journey — and comments from viewers — have shaped their relationship.
Here’s what we know about where the international couples from the cast of the latest season stand today, as of Summer 2024, in the lead-up to the highly-anticipated cast reunion.
Charlotte and Johan – married (but separated)
At 34 years old and 21 years old respectively, Englishwoman Charlotte and Dominican Republic resident Johan’s relationship raised eyebrows from Charlotte’s family from the start. Charlotte is keen to marry her toyboy as soon as possible to bring him to the U.K., ideally in time for the birth of their potential children, as the two are keenly trying for a baby, despite their long-distance status.
Towards the end of season three, viewers saw Johan — who appeared visibly nervous the night before — arrive extremely late for the nuptials, almost missing the time slot at the venue altogether, although a forgiving Charlotte agreed to marry him in a speedy ceremony. The wedding left a bad taste in the mouths of Charlotte’s loved ones, but the Brit enjoyed wedded bliss — that is, for a short time.
In a rare fourth-wall break, the behind-the-scenes crew for 90 Day Fiancé UK informed Charlotte during filming that they had acquired evidence of Johan having extramarital relationships with other, unnamed women, later revealed to be more than 15 in total. A heartbroken and furious Charlotte decided to call time on her brief marriage to Johan, with the businesswoman burning her wedding dress as a symbol of the end of her love and commitment to the Dominican native. In the reunion, tell-all finale episode of the season, Charlotte revealed she is single, but is looking to start dating again in the future.
Jamie and Kathleen – engaged (but considering breaking up)
Self-proclaimed “mummy’s boy” Jamie wants his Filipina girlfriend Kathleen to move from Cyprus to the U.K. so he can live life as a doubly-pampered prince — but Kathleen isn’t so sure. Their relationship was rocked by Jamie cheating on her with a friend in the past, and she is still struggling to overcome those trust issues.
In the last episodes before the finale, 90 Day Fiancé UK teased Jamie and his family partying with his ex — with whom he also cheated — as the potential final straw for the relationship, as Kathleen was reluctant to forgive him. However, a proposal by Jamie (because he was sorry, always the best reason to propose) saw Kathleen agree to marry the unromantic Brit — as his now-fiancé described him.
At the reunion episode, Jamie was in attendance but Kathleen wasn’t, even though other cast members living abroad, like Ali, attended the tell-all via video call. Jamie claimed Kathleen was busy with work, although his next revelation — that he and Kathleen were on rocks once more — casts doubt on this claim. At the tell-all, Jamie openly hit on his female co-stars, most notably Charlotte, revealing he has a bit of a crush on her. He justified the flirtation by stating that he “might be single soon,” so it was probably fine.
John and Sprite – engaged, then broken up, then engaged again
Chef John and Thailand-based photographer Sprite met when John taught English in Sprite’s native country, but the couple seemed like total strangers when Sprite visited him in John’s hometown of Aylesbury. Sprite frequently shamed his British boyfriend for his appearance, while John’s laidback countryside lifestyle was a poor match for Sprite’s fast-paced, city-based career in fashion.
An argument over an attempted romantic dinner, where Sprite demanded that John lose 10 kilos (approximately 22 pounds) seemed to be a deal-breaker for the couple, with Sprite threatening to return to Thailand for good if they couldn’t come to an agreement. John attempted to patch things up with a proposal where he hid an engagement ring in a cake, which Sprite accepted.
However, the excitement of the engagement quickly wore off. After weeks of Sprite’s demands getting on John’s nerves, a petty argument where Sprite asked John to cook eggs for him saw John throw in the towel — with the couple ending things for good, and Sprite returning to Thailand.
In a surprise twist, Jamie and Sprite both attended the tell-all and revealed they were engaged once more. The two faced some serious criticisms from their co-stars over their relationship (Sprite’s treatment of John in particular), which reduced both of them to tears, with John admitting he was “scared” about the future of their relationship. A chat with host Mel Giedroyc about Sprite’s traumatic loss of his father from diabetes revealed itself as the apparent source of Sprite’s weight-shaming, so their ability to move beyond these issues is a serious case of “watch this space.”
Louise and Jose – still together (and married, again)
Season two favorite Jose — who hails from Colombia — returned for the new season alongside wife Louise, now with a new life in Gloucester with their newborn son, Raoul. Jose is as keen as ever to make a living as a rapper, hoping his music will pay for his son’s upbringing, and a U.K.-based wedding ceremony, after their rather disastrous, first nuptials in a registry office in Colombia – a quickie ceremony performed to allow Jose to come to the U.K. under visa rules.
As season three wrapped up, Jose tried — and failed — to win over his adult step-son, Jesse, an attempted truece likely not helped by asking Jesse to film a music video where he had to witness his mother grinding on the aspiring rapper. The couple also had a Gloucester-based vow renewal ceremony, in which Jesse (and other members of Louise’s family) were in attendance.
Jose and Louise are frequent social media users, and recent posts (as of July 2024) show the couple still very much live under the same roof, and are enjoying life with their young son. In a recent post, Louise shared her point of view while Jose makes Cameo videos for fans in their home, in their new social media enterprise — we guess the music video didn’t work?
Nicole and Taher – still together (and expecting a baby)
Nicole met her future husband Taher while on vacation in Egypt with her then-fiancé — and their relationship hasn’t become any less chaotic since. After a whirlwind wedding ceremony, the couple have frequently fought over whether they would live in the U.K. or in Egypt, and what religion their children would be raised in, as well as whether Nicole will adhere to Taher’s conservative beliefs about womens’ clothing — even though Nicole was wearing a bikini when the two had their meet-cute.
Season three’s final episodes saw Taher make it to the U.K., and fare rather well, despite Nicole’s anxieties about the Egyptian assimilating into British culture. In a surprise turn of events, Nicole discovered that she was pregnant shortly after Taher had moved in with her, which hastened Taher’s plans to have his wife and future family convert from Christianity to Islam. At the tell-all, the couple revealed they plan to raise their child Muslim, but Taher isn’t pressuring his wife to convert, as he wants her to love the religion on her own terms rather than out of marital duty.
Sam and Ali – married
Turkish citizen Ali claims it was love at first sight when he saw Brit Sam — but Sam’s mother, with whom she lives, has her doubts. Sam has been warned about how often the hotel barman talks about how much money he could earn in the U.K., leaving the Newcastle native worried that Ali could be using her for a visa.
Although they were absent for the final episode of season three, Sam and Ali managed to put their disagreements behind them – mainly when an emotional Sam was moved by Ali’s willingness to say goodbye to his friends for a new life in the U.K. Their last scenes showed Ali enjoying a TV night with Sam’s family via FaceTime, planning how he will spend his time when he arrives in the country.
At the reunion, the two revealed that they had recently married in a lavish ceremony, although Sam’s closest friend refused to congratulate her, due to her own troubled past relationship with an international partner. Ali has not been able to emigrate to the U.K. yet, due to high visa costs, but the pair — along with many viewers — will have their fingers crossed.
Tony and Nui – still together (and getting married)
Veteran Tony has never had a serious relationship before — until he met Thailand native Nui, who has two children from a previous marriage. The couple have never seriously discussed where the couple would live, or Tony’s desire to have children of his own, despite the fact Nui is in her forties — what could go wrong?
As season three drew to a close, it seemed that an explosive argument between the couple over Tony drinking too much and abandoning the Thai resident in the middle of London would be the couple’s final straw. However, a proposal by Tony on the London Eye, which Nui gleefully accepted, has made the couple seemingly happier than ever.
In a July 2024 post, Tony and Nui shared images via Facebook of the couple at a restaurant in Newcastle, alongside season three co-star Samantha, calling the fellow cast member a “true gold hearted woman [sic]” with “banter galore.” The post ended with “see you at the wedding,” informing their followers that the nuptials are still going ahead as planned.
At the tell-all, Tony revealed that he had moved to Thailand, and said he was enjoying island life with his fiancée. Although the recollection of the London incident brought Nui to tears, she was happy that Tony had cut down on his drinking, as she had requested.
