After all of the stalling and hypothesizing that Alan Wake would flop on the PC, we can finally put that mentality to rest. In less than 48 hours, Remedy Entertainment was able to recoup every penny spent on the porting and marketing costs for the troubled writer’s mouse and keyboard debut.
Remedy’s Aki Järvilehto had this to say on the studio’s forums:
“We are very happy with the sales and hitting #1 on Steam at launch was nothing short of amazing, we recouped our development and marketing expenses during the first 48 hours. And yes, we’re certainly very excited about PC.”
This is obviously great news for Remedy, and it’s great news for PC fans. It’s hard to argue with these results and after this I’d be hard-pressed to imagine the upcoming Alan Wake sequel not making its way over to the PC as well.
