You might not expect the urban stylings of Alison Wonderland to mesh well with the contemporary house grooves of Duke Dumont, but the former artist’s recent remix makes for a surprising stylistic synthesis. Dumont’s recent nu-disco tinged “Ocean Drive” doesn’t exactly scream trap music, but when put it through the Alison treatment, it makes for an infectiously high-energy take on the original.
A dramatic strings section ushers in the creatively edited samples from the original before a primal horn synth signals a treacherous trap drop replete with 808 drum rolls. The track doesn’t quite exhibit the same outside-the-box essence as the rest of Alison’s productions, but for what it is it makes for an effective festival track.
If trap suits your fancy, then definitely make sure to give Alison Wonderland‘s remix of Duke Dumont’s “Ocean Drive” a listen above and tell us what you think in the comments section below.
