Armin van Buuren has announced this week that he will be releasing a new mini-album titled Old Skool that will recreate classic dance hits with a modern spin. The project was announced on his A State Of Trance radio show, and will follow up his most recent studio album Embrace from last year.
The first taste of the upcoming mini-album comes in the form of the 1991 rave classic “Dominator” by Human Resource. A video clip has surfaced to detail the behind the scenes creation of AVB’s re-imagining of the classic dance hit, revealing that the Dutch producer got permission from the track’s creators before deciding to release it. His version gives “Dominator” an updated production with modern sound design while still retaining the vintage rave vibes.
Armin van Buuren has also updated a number of other classic releases for Old Skool, including Speedy J’s “Pull Over” and Quadrophonia’s self-titled anthem. For a full list of what to expect, you can check out the tracklist below.
