In celebration of the Fourth of July holiday and in preparation for the impending release of the zombie-defense game Dead Block, Digital Reality have released a new batch of screenshots.
These shots demonstrate the top 3 ways would-be zombie exterminators can get their kill on, and keep themselves protected from sunburns, overly hot summer days and the hungry hordes of the undead when Dead Block launches on XBOX LIVE Arcade on July 6, 2011, and on PlayStation Network July 20, 2011.
But don’t just take it from them: the lone survivors in Dead Block — Foxy Jones, Mike Bacon and Jack Foster — have these tips for keeping you and yours safe from impending zombie attacks.
1. Sun Bed Trap: Get a sweet tan this Fourth of July using a state-of-the-art sun bed. Not only does it grant you a golden skin-tone like the sun-kissed Adoni of the shores of Jersey, but sunlight has the added perk of frying your rotting invaders before they have the chance to disrupt your pool party.
2. Freeze Trap: July can get hot. Like, REALLY hot. So, make extra sure that you stay cool by outfitting your doorways and windows with cold air tanks, freezing any would-be intruders for easy smashing.
3. Nuclear Bomb Power Trap: When it comes to 4th of July grilling, don’t forget that we now live in the atomic age so use nuclear power to heat up your hot dogs, steaks, hamburgers, or whatever you may want to throw on the grill. Nuclear power is exceptionally handy when taking out hordes of zombies, so don’t be afraid to put the kibosh on their advances, nuclear-style!
Dead Block is a campy and humor-filled romp that mixes zombie killing with tactical defense strategies, letting players defend their territory by discovering new weapons to strategically rock ‘n trap the invading zombie horde.
Set in the U.S. during the idyllic 1950s, Dead Block takes players to a simpler time when a gallon of gas cost a few pennies, and the “golden age” of cinema was in full swing. It was around that time when that new (and apparently insanely evil) craze called rock ‘n roll swept the nation, causing an apocalyptic musical plague to turn the deceased into the walking dead!
Team up with three of your buddies and drop-in/drop-out of play for the most addictive co-op zombie thrashing experience in Dead Block, launching for 800 Microsoft Points on Xbox LIVE Arcade on July 6, 2011, and $9.99 on PlayStation Network July 20, 2011.

Once we finish putting these tips to some good virtual use, we’ll have a review for you next week. Keep checking back, and make sure to remember that practice makes perfect.
