Music fans have learned a lot more about Martin Garrix in recent months than they did during the time that “Animals” made its rounds on the festival circuit, but it looks like they still want more. The young DJ/producer recently linked up with Playboy to talk about his likes, dislikes and dreams, revealing some interesting tidbits of his personality in the process.
In case you don’t have time to watch it yourself, we put together some cliff notes from the interview:
- Garrix’s favorite song is “Happy” by Pharrell, because it reminds him of positive memories and always puts him in a good mood.
- He loves cheeseburgers, but doesn’t like tomatoes or onions.
- His biggest pet peeve is fake people, and he’s encountered a lot of them in the entertainment industry.
- With his first big payout, he bought a new computer so that he could produce songs faster.
As fanciful as the interview was, it doesn’t go too in-depth on Garrix’s musical aspirations. It’s a shame, too, as he’s in the middle of a metamorphosis as an EDM artist and more insight into his growth as a musician would have made the interview more interesting for his fans.
