Following tour-derailing illness and a head scratcher of a perfomance on the A State Of Trance (ASOT) stage at Ultra Music Festival, deadmau5 looks to be back in the swing of his routine. The progressive house prodigy has uploaded a new work in progress to his SoundCloud account, and seems eager to talk about his upcoming live set with Eric Prydz at Tomorrowland.
Apparently, there were no hard feelings between the ‘mau5 and Armin Van Buuren after the remarks made by the former artist at the end of his aforementioned set. In a subsequent interview for the ASOT radio program, the two laughed about it and deadmau5 explained that he wanted to hear what black metal sounded like on the Funktion One sound system.
More importantly, however, he discussed his upcoming collaborations with Eric Prydz. In addition to revealing that the two would be renting out a studio in Brussels for the two weeks leading up to their live set, he casually agreed to live stream one of their sessions on Twitch.

More recently, deadmau5 has begun uploading music to his SoundCloud account again – this time in the form of a WIP titled “Rio,” which can be heard in the player at the top of the page. The apparent intro clip sounds substantially more melodic than much of what he’s teased for the Project Entropy concept, although it’s clearly a very early draft of something much more involved.
With any luck, more announcements from deadmau5 and Eric Prydz will reach us in the weeks to follow, so stay tuned!
