Deadmau5 Will Start Work On His Next Album In January

After a two year wait since his last full length record, deadmau5 finally released his latest LP W:/2016Album earlier in the month. While it's no secret that the Canadian musician was less than pleased with the finished product, the album came packed with plenty of great tunes and went on to make our list of the Ten Best EDM Albums of 2016.

After a two year wait since his last full-length record, deadmau5 finally released his latest LP W:/2016Album earlier in the month. While it’s no secret that the Canadian musician was less than pleased with the finished product, the album came packed with plenty of great tunes and went on to make our list of the Ten Best EDM Albums of 2016.

Taking to Twitter this week, deadmau5 announced that he intends to begin work on the follow-up to W:/2016Album as early as January 2017. In the announcement, he also reveals that he’ll be adding a new piece of gear to his already expansive repertoire; a mixing console from Rupert Neve’s celebrated line of audio recording equipment.

During one of his rants about the quality of W:/2016Album, deadmau5 explained that he felt the new work was “rushed” and “slapped together,” before stating that he would like to sit down and churn out a record he can be proud of. Perhaps his next offering will arrive as just that.

Following the release of W:/2016Album, deadmau5 announced the Lots Of Shows In A Row tour, which is set to commence in the spring and will see the producer hitting key cities throughout the US. A number of stops are already sold out, but you can still grab tickets here.
