At the beginning of the month, “Paper Planes” rapper MIA took to Twitter to tease the details of an upcoming single titled “Bird Song” with dance music’s busiest producer Diplo. Fans were understandably excited at the prospect of the two artists working together again, as they haven’t hit the studio together since their personal relationship demised. However, it now appears that we may have to curb our excitement for “Bird Song,” as the single has hit a snag with the label.
MIA revealed that Interscope Records has failed to clear “Bird Song” for release, meaning the single may never see the light of day. She took to Twitter to publicly implore the label to sort out the issues with the release, but it’s unclear if that will be to any avail.
@Interscope can you clear bird song @diplo version so it can be released this Friday !

In place of the Diplo produced version of “Bird Song,” MIA shared a Blaqstarr remix to satiate fans until the label clears the single. Hopefully Interscope will get the situation dealt with quickly though so we can hear the results of their latest collaboration.
