For those of you who don’t know, Dog Blood is the joint music project between bass music icon Skrillex and techno mastermind Boys Noize. The duo recently performed at HARD Red Rocks outside Denver, Colorado, and debuted a new ID during their face-melting set at the picturesque amphitheater.
Staying true to the characteristic electro-meets-techno style of the outfit, the track is largely driven by heavy percussive elements. Visceral synth stabs and a pitch-shifted vocal sample round out the arrangement, which must have made the occasion that much more worthwhile for attendees who got to hear it played from the speakers of the acoustically flawless natural amphitheater.
We’ve told you before that we find Dog Blood to be a superior Skrillex collaboration to Jack Ü, but just how well their set at HARD Red Rocks was received suggests that we’re not in the minority. Hopefully this release will be the first of many more to come for the duo, who have proven themselves more than capable of staying relevant amid an ever-changing industry.
