In recent years, the end-of-year Billboard Hot 100 has been filled with the typical slew of pop, hip-hop, and RnB, with the occasional electronically inspired tune making its way onto the list. But 2015 has been anything but typical. With nearly every genre picking up cues from the flourishing electronic scene, dance music has finally arrived en force on the year’s most influential chart.
More importantly, electronic dance music is consistently breaching the Top 20. Last year, it was DJ Snake’s “Turn Down For What” securing the #15 spot, but for 2015, Felix Jaehn’s remix of OMI’s “Cheerleader” placed #11.
Ever closer to penetrating the elusive Top 10, Major Lazer’s “Lean On” snagged the #16 spot, and Jack Ü took #19 with their Collaboration of the Year, “Where Are Ü Now.” Of course, there were plenty of other electronically spiced tracks gracing the Billboard Hot 100.
We’ve compiled a list of all the dance tracks below, but be sure to have a look at the full chart here.
