Future has been announced as an addition to the performance line up at this year’s MTV Music Video Awards.
The “Where Ya At” rapper will be hitting the stage alongside the other artists who are expected to perform at the event, such as Rihanna and Britney Spears.
Future was announced in the form of a video sent out from the Video Music Awards’ Twitter account. “My creativity comes from me being in the studio and my past situations,” he says in the minute long promo shot. “My music is a diary. It carries volumes.” With two releases put out this year – the mixtape Purple Reign and a full-length EVOL – who knows what tunes will be included in the setlist.
Although he’ll be bringing his visuals to life in a live setting, none of Future’s music videos were actually nominated for an award, despite “Where Ya At” being eligible. Nominations for Video Of The Year feature Justin Bieber’s “Sorry” and Kanye West’s “Famous,” while videos up for Best Hip Hop Video include Desiigner’s “Panda” and Chance The Rapper’s “Angels.”
The MTV Music Video Awards will be airing live this Sunday, August 28th at 9 p.m EST.
