It looks as though a Hardwell and KSHMR collaboration is on the horizon, and it came about in a particularly unorthodox manner. While it’s not all that uncommon for collaborations between world-class artists to arise from Twitter exchanges, it’s seldom that they’re the result of a fan’s suggestion.
Last weekend, a Twitter user with the handle @JuanjoPlz congratulated KSHMR on earning DJ Mag’s Best New Entry honor, including the dream collaboration as an afterthought:
@KSHMRmusic Congrats in your best new entry in DJMag, you deserve it , btw, when you’re going to collab with @HARDWELL? That would be EPIC
— Juanjo. (@JuanjoPlz) October 17, 2015
However, that afterthought appears to have been enough to initiate the following dialogue between the two artists:
@JuanjoPlz thank you Juanjo, I’d love to collab to @hardwell. It was songs like cobra, spaceman zero76, etc that got me into dance music
— KSHМЯ (@KSHMRmusic) October 17, 2015
@KSHMRmusic @JuanjoPlz I’m down! 🙂 — Hardwell (@HARDWELL) October 17, 2015
@HARDWELL just texted you lmk if you got it
— KSHМЯ (@KSHMRmusic) October 17, 2015
While I’ve been critical of Hardwell’s artistic integrity in the past, it’s respectable that he’s willing to entertain a fan’s idea and embark on a project so spontaneously. Couple that with KSHMR’s penchant for putting out main stage hits, and the track might actually turn out to be something I’ll enjoy listening to.
Obviously, though, at this stage there’s no additional information about Hardwell and KSHMR’s upcoming collaboration – but rest assured that we’ll provide you with the details as soon as they emerge.
