Hardwell just finished up his 250th Hardwell On Air, and came out swinging with one of the biggest tracks of 2016. However, we’ve only confirmed the title, “Ghost.” It’s still an ID at this point, and it’s all up to speculation as to who is behind the eclectic mix of airy whistling, electro builds, and garage breaks.
The introduction seems like something from Hardwell himself, but the breakdown employs the garage feel of Oliver Heldens more than anything. The tinge of breakbeat during the bridge is subtly different, and whoever produced it has stumbled upon an exquisitely appealing arrangement. Matthew Koma’s lyrics add the proper vocal element to “Ghost,” and the track’s hook is entirely too catchy. Regardless of who might be the brains behind this gem, you’re definitely going to hear more of it throughout the year.
