Hugh Jackman is Marvel’s Wolverine, and the road to becoming the mutant superhero certainly isn’t an easy one. All heroes are supposed to be larger than life, fit, and able to protect the universe from all forms of evil, but Wolverine is a special case.
Wolverine is the epitome of buff; his muscular exterior is highlighted in almost every fight scene and plenty in which the character isn’t fighting at all. Jackman has to get (some pun intended) jacked for the role, and while he always stays in peak physical condition, it’s a special set of circumstances to get into Wolverine shape.
So fans were paying attention when Jackman and Ryan Reynolds announced that Deadpool and Wolverine would be coming together for Deadpool 3 back in September of 2022. It wasn’t just an announcement but the promise that we’d soon see Jackman and Reynolds in rare form, and their transformations have already begun.
As celebrities began preparing for the Met Gala in the early hours of Monday, May 1, many photos and videos were being taken to soon share with fans. The hours leading up to the main event are equally as important, if not more so, than the few moments we see our favorite celebrities ascend the stairs.
For Jackman, becoming Wolverine doesn’t stop just because a big day is on the horizon. In a video he shared on Twitter today, he smiles for what he initially thinks is a picture with his hand holding up five fingers. When he realizes he’s being recorded, Jackman tells fans that he’s eating his fifth meal of the day.
Yes, you read that right; he wasn’t even dressed yet, and was eating for the fifth time yesterday afternoon.
To gain muscle tone, definition, and strength for Wolverine’s big scenes, Jackman has to have a high caloric intake, and he has been working hard for those gains. In several videos on Twitter, Jackman has been chronicling the road to #becomingwolverineagain, and it’s been quite an interesting watch for fans.
Jackman’s meal did look delicious, so at least he’s eating well when he’s eating a lot — and the juice will all be worth the squeeze when Deadpool 3, or Wolverine 10, hits theaters.
