James Gunn has just wrapped production on his second Marvel Studios movie, bringing in Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol. 2 a week early and under budget. That’s pretty impressive, no? With the movie officially in the can, Gunn hit up Facebook today to post the last ever #WhatWeShotWednesday pic.
In the comments below, someone asked when he gets started on Guardians Of The Galaxy 3. Unsurprisingly, he replied, “I’m not yet sure whether I’m going to do Vol 3.” He adds that the sequel was more “emotionally exhausting” than the first, and so it’s understandable that he might want to take a breather.
Last night, after Chris Pratt shot his final scenes, the filmmaker set up a Facebook Livestream so fans could be a part of that experience – and it was quite touching to say the least. It looks as if Gunn and his cast and crew always have a blast on set. There’s obviously a tremendous amount of bonding that happens, and that all adds to making a stronger, palpable feeling for audiences watching the resultant film. It’s no wonder he’s knackered.
Of course, seeing as the sequel wrapped about 24 hours ago, and Gunn and his post-production crew have more work ahead of them, it might be a while before he commits to Guardians Of The Galaxy 3. With just under a year to go until the second movie comes out though, there’s still plenty of time for an official announcement either way.
