While some of DC’s heaviest hitters continue saving the day a global scale in the publisher’s flagship team-up book, Justice League, up and coming scribe Steve Orlando has been carving a different niche with a ragtag team consisting of Batman, Black Canary, Lobo, the Ray, the Atom, Vixen and Killer Frost over in the pages of Justice League of America.
In the latest episode of DC All Access, co-host Jason Inman had the privilege of chatting with Orlando about the soon to be released issue #7. Aside from placing the antagonistic focus on the attention seeking Terrorsmith, readers will definitely want to keep their eyes affixed to the possibly budding romance involving Caitlin Snow and Ryan Choi.
Personally, I think the character of Killer Frost is one of the biggest crossover draws to be co-headlining this series aside from Batman. In addition to luring in fans of The Flash TV series, she’s struggling with the curse her powers bring just as her small screen counterpart has of late. And should Danielle Panabaker’s live action take on her make it out of season 3 alive, a heroic turn similar to what’s been unfolding in the comics definitely shouldn’t be ruled out.
Beyond that, Orlando also teases what’s to come in the near future. After enticing us with a new villain named Kingbutcher, whom he describes as “Conan the Barbarian meets Doctor Fate,” he hints at an upcoming arc that’ll see the team exploring the microverse, an adventure that’ll be crucial to maintaining the stability of all reality.
Justice League of America #7 arrives in comic shops this Wednesday, May 24.
