Kasbo is one of those names that seems to be popping up everywhere in the dance music community. The Swedish producer has been making a splash as of late after dropping his debut EP in 2015 and gaining attention for a remix of Fetty Wap’s ‘Trap Queen” earlier in the year. Now he’s back to drop his latest single, teaming up with UK vocalist Cheney for a future bass effort titled “Call.”
“Call” opens with a somber piano progression as Kasbo transforms Cheney’s voice into a lead melody. Light percussion then joins the mix as the vocalist delivers some sped up topline melodies over an R&B flavored backdrop. Moving into the drop, the song explodes into a chorus of airy synth chords and off-kilter future bass rhythms that converge to form a smooth but energetic wall of sound.
With “Call,” Kasbo manages to deliver a unique future bass production despite the style’s recent spike in popularity among dance music artists. The song features a lush sound and some catchy vocals courtesy of Cheney, and is definitely another memorable entry for the Swedish producer.
