By now, it’s pretty likely that you’ve heard about the scale of Zedd‘s live shows during his performances on the True Colors tour. With the last of his dates wrapped up, Live Nation TV has released a mini-documentary detailing everything that goes into the visual elements of each show – and now it makes sense why they generated the buzz that they did.
Between a team of light and sound specialists souring the market for state-of-the-art LED screens to a graphic designer building 3D environments over a span of months, it appears as though the team responsible for the live show left no stone unturned when it came to each individual element. However, perhaps most important was Zedd’s own heavy involvement in each step of the process.
While it’s ironic that Zedd would save his everything-but-the-kitchen-sink approach for a tour accompanying his subpar sophomore effort, it’s refreshing to see such a chart-topping artist take his fans’ experience of the music so seriously. Now that the pop star bug has run its course and he doesn’t have the likes of Selena Gomez crawling around in his head, maybe the next album he puts out will measure up to that which his fans know him to be capable.
