When he’s not busy teasing the man beneath the helmet, Marshmello can generally be relied on for a steady steam of top notch originals and remixes. This week the mellogang leader has delivered a new flip on Alan Walker’s “Sing Me To Sleep,” infusing his signature future bass style into the song.
Marshmello’s “Singe Me To Sleep” remix opens with some deep bass notes beneath the vocal track from the original. The dark intro is suddenly contrasted by some funky synth work that leads into the drops, which consist of stuttered rhythms and chopped up vocal samples. Marshmello’s flip differs pretty substantially from the original version, offering up a re-imagining of the source material infused with his trademark sounds.
Marshmello tends to drop solid remixes when he’s not releasing his own productions, and “Sing Me To Sleep” is no exception. Now if he and Skrillex would just release their upcoming collab already…
