Martin Garrix took home the gold over the weekend at the MTV European Music Awards, going up against acts like The Chainsmokers, Calvin Harris, Daft Punk and more. Just a few weeks after being named #1 DJ in the world by DJ Mag’s annual top 100 poll, the dance music superstar received some major accolades at last night’s award ceremony.
Despite some stiff competition, Garrix won big in the categories of Best Electronic Act and Best World Stage Performance. Following the win, the producer took to the stage with collaborator Bebe Rexha for a performance of their song “In The Name Of Love.” Garrix dons the guitar again for another live rendition of the recent single, as Rexha belts out the song’s familiar hooks for an emotive performance.
G-Eazy, who presented Garrix with his award, had some kind sentiments to offer up about the DJ following the event.

It’s safe to say that 2016 has been a monumental year for Martin Garrix. The Dutch producer has come a long way since exploding on the scene in 2013 with his breakout hit “Animals,” and has gone on to establish himself as a musical force to be reckoned with in his own right.
Congrats, Martin!
