Future House frontrunner Oliver Heldens surprised his fans earlier this year when he revealed himself to be the mastermind behind his alternate project Hi-Lo, a new moniker the Dutch shuffle lord rolled out to serve as a home for his beats and bass dominated tunes. With just a handful of tunes to its name, the Hi-Lo side project has already proven itself as a force to be reckoned within the dance music community.
This week, Heldens dropped his latest Hi-Lo single, making “Ooh La La” available for streaming from his Soundcloud account a few weeks ahead of its official release date.
The new track opens with clanking drum samples as the single’s namesake vocal sample repeats in the background. Muted bass tones soon join the mix, forging a stready groove alongside techy beats. Eschewing his signature future house basslines, Heldens crafts distorted synths and irresistible rhythms throughout the mix, resulting in another strong dancefloor anthem for the Hi-Lo moniker.
“Ooh La La” will see its official release on December 7 on Oliver Heldens‘ own imprint, Heldeep Records.
