Attention, Clone Club! In anticipation of tonight’s season 4 finale, BBC America has confirmed plans to renew Orphan Black for a fifth and final season, ensuring Tatiana Maslany and her small army of clones make a return in 2017.
Upholding tradition from previous seasons, Maslany’s last outing as Sarah et. al will run for 10 episodes in total, and in light of the renewal, President of BBC America Sarah Barnett showered praise on what the series has achieved so far: “Orphan Black is a thrilling, genre-bending ride that has captured our fans’ imaginations and hearts like no other show.”
On board to oversee the final chapter are co-creators John Fawcett and Graeme Manson, who posted their own heartfelt statement now that the finish line is in sight for Orphan Black.
“We are excited to deliver an epic conclusion to the tale of Sarah and her clone sisters. The past four seasons have been a phenomenal adventure and we are eternally grateful to our loyal fans who have loved the twists and thrills of our weird little show. We are thankful to our partners at Temple Street, and to BBC America and Space for their support and giving us the opportunity to end on a high.”
Yes, Orphan Black will return for a fifth and final season at some point in 2017, but for now, you can get the skinny on season 4 ahead of tonight’s grand finale.
