It looks like progressive house superstarsĀ Axwell /\ Ingrosso want to wash away the sour taste left in people’s mouths due to their split with long-time manager Amy Thompson by revealing an initiative that everybody can get behind. The duo have just released a preview of their upcoming track, “This Time,” announcing that all proceeds from the song will go towards UN refugee agency UNHCR.
Charity or otherwise, I’d blast this track if I felt like it deserved to be blasted – but for main stage progressive house, it’s actually not a bad cut. A hard rock-reminiscent testosterone not unlike that of recent Alesso (who himself is Sebastian Ingrosso’s protege) meets a mildly Daft Punk-y funk sound. A robotic voice chants “This time we cant go home” – which is admittedly a somewhat tasteless tie-in to the cause at hand – before a brief snippet from the first verse reveals that hip-hop emcee Pusha T will be featured on the full version.
Seeing as how “This Time” is only the first of many tracks to be featured onĀ Axwell /\ Ingrosso‘s upcoming debut album, it’s safe to assert that we’ll be seeing a lot more from the Swedish powerhouse in the weeks to follow. Until then, listen to the preview of “This Time” and let us know what you think by sounding off in the comments section below.
