Description Of First Solo: A Star Wars Story Trailer Surfaces

Despite it arriving in just a few months time, we have yet to see any promotional material for Solo: A Star Wars Story. Though this might be a deliberate plot from Lucasfilm to keep the focus on Star Wars: The Last Jedi, it might also be due to issues the production has been facing behind the scenes - original directors Chris Miller and Phil Lord were fired midway through filming and replaced by Ron Howard.

Word has it, however, that the first trailer for Solo will be with us very soon. Following on from that news comes a rumoured description of the teaser, courtesy of the Star Wars Leaks subreddit. Obviously, we should take this with a pinch of salt, but it could very well be genuine, and we should know for sure in no time at all.

Anyways, here’s what it says the trailer shows:

  • Han walking, angle only shows his holstered blaster
  • Wookiees getting transferred somewhere. Planet looked new, never seen it before
  • Shot from behind of Han approaching a large crowd surrounding a table or something
  • Close up of Han’s dice
  • There’s like one shot of Woody’s character, but it was in a dark alley area and he looked paranoid
  • Han doing his “Yehoo!” yell and the Falcon going through light speed
  • Chewbacca roaring and running next to Han
  • Somebody says “it’s not worth the risk”, pretty sure Lando says it
  • There is a cut-to-black and somebody says “l’ll make him pay” and there’s a huge long rifle on a table with some armor piece next to it
  • Didn’t see much of GoT chick’s character. There’s a “This Summer” title card that shows right after a glimpse of a handful of stormtroopers walking down an alley.

According to this description, then, it looks like the teaser will play with the audience by holding back on the reveal of Alden Ehrenreich as the young Han Solo, taking over from the legendary Harrison Ford. Donald Glover’s take on Lando Calrissian might feature in a vocal cameo though, while Emilia Clarke’s female lead could be completely absent.

Whatever it consists of, Solo: A Star Wars Story‘s first teaser definitely needs to reinvigorate people’s excitement in the prequel movie, as it’s suffered from a lot of bad press this year. The latest bit of negative buzz is a report that claims Lucasfilm is already expecting it to bomb, as its uneven production has apparently resulted in the finished product being a complete mess.

Still, let’s not write the movie off just yet. The first teaser looks to be with us in the next couple of weeks and at that point, we’ll have a much better idea of how Solo: A Star Wars Story will perform when it blasts into cinemas on May 25th, 2018.
