Former Swedish House Mafia member Steve Angello has found himself at the center of some legal heat after a former partner opened a lawsuit against him over fraud allegations. According to reports from Swedish magazine Expressen, the DJ and producer is being sued by a former partner for roughly $13 million.
The allegations against Angello were raised by someone referred to as “the artist’s colleague,” who claims they were promised a monthly salary and stake in an unnamed company. The complainant maintains that the DJ was willfully criminal in his actions, stating that he was “deliberate and intentional, knowing that such behavior would damage the plaintiff.”
In total, the lawsuit claims Angello committed “fraud, broken business contract and crimes against property management,” while alleging that he attempted to cover up any wrong doing “by constantly repeating, and distorting information.”
Steve Angello maintains that the allegations are false, stating that it “lacks grounds and is a lot of fabrications and lies…I do not think about this. Had there been something serious, I [would have] been familiar with it. But I do not care. There are no grounds.” He also claimed to have filed a counter-suit, though at the time Expressen’s article was published no such counterclaim had been filed.
This is still a developing story and we’ll be sure to keep you posted with new information as it becomes available.
