This may shock many, but politicians change opinions of right and wrong based on who is in power. During the administration of former President Donald Trump, Republicans abandoned previous claims of fiscal responsibility. Under President Joe Biden, Democrats have said it is not appropriate to give the public access to facilities that house migrants on the border, and now, Colorado Republican Rep. Lauren Boebert has shifted around whether traveling abroad while under federal investigation matters.
The controversial figure who almost lost her first reelection bid to a moderate Democratic Party candidate posted the above earlier today. While it is true Hunter Biden did tag along with President Biden on a trip to Europe, Ivanka Trump went with her father to Saudi Arabia in 2017 while he was being investigated by former F.B.I. Director Robert Mueller, and, the same year this happened, it was reported she and her husband Jared Kushner had been under investigation for felony fraud but mysteriously dodged the charges.
In Boebert’s replies, several are mentioning Kushner and Ivanka and, for another, Boebert should answer if someone can seek the presidency while being under federal investigation and, specifically, if this is the kind of thing the United States should show off.
In the quoted re-tweets, other critics of Boebert say she should not talk given her family’s problems, more reminders of Trump and his misadventures pop up, and, in a rare instance, someone thinks she has a bit of a point about the image presented by the travel.
Whatever the case, you cannot go back in time, so Hunter Biden’s trip with his father stands. However, you can look back and recall prior moments recorded in some form, and here’s hoping Boebert and other political partisans manage to do so someday.
