Wiz Khalifa and Snoop Dogg are being sued following a railing that collapsed at one of their concerts in New Jersey earlier this month.
At the duo’s stop in Camden, New Jersey on August 5th, a security barrier in front of the stage toppled over, leading to 50 of the concertgoers falling ten feet onto concrete, with 42 reported injured.
Lawyers of the injured say that the incident resulted in “broken bones, loss of consciousness, and emotional trauma.” The lawsuit filed states that the accident took place because of the lack of safety precautions, and clients are seeking monetary compensation.
Attorney Robert J. Mongeluzzi went into more detail with Rolling Stone, describing how Snoop’s call to the crowd led to the stampede:
The failure of this railing at the concert venue was caused by a failure in planning and execution. A second stage was located beneath a lawn area with no seat or aisles, leading to crowd surge when Snoop Dogg screamed, ‘Everybody in the motherf–king lawn, bring your ass down here.’
Wiz Khalifa and Snoop Dogg have been out all summer together on “The High Road Tour,” which will wrap up on September 2nd.
