Avalon Hollywood is one of LA’s most coveted nightlife spots, and their CONTROL series has risen to massive influence since it’ launch in 2008. Now, to celebrate their 7th anniversary, CONTROL is throwing a two-night celebration as only they can.
Tonight, March 4th, will showcase the best of bass music with Gladiator, DJ Sliink b2b Brenmar, Aazar, Jon Mon and Tighttraxx. And on March 5th, CONTROL will welcome back Wolfgang Gartner for his first show in nearly a year alongside Wuki and Penthouse.
To mark the occassion, Dancing Astronaut asked Porter Robinson, Gladiator, and more about their favorite memories from CONTROL, and you can check out what they had to say below:
Gladiator
“To be involved in the 7th Anniversary of a venue and event that has welcomed us and so many friends for so many years is truly an honor. Gladiator has been attending Control at the Avalon since day one – an incredible event that has shaped our love for electronic music of all kinds and created a home base for all Los Angeles music fans. We wish the Avalon and the team behind Control best wishes in the coming year and to many more unforgettable shows!”
Porter Robinson
“I remember back in 2010, me and my managers and some friends walked into Control for the first time, and as we were walking in, The Crystal Method played my track “Say My Name”. So nostalgic looking back on that – Control was something that I aspired to play one day back then. It’s definitely a classic US dance music institution.”
Ghastly
“Control has always been a staple in LA nightlife culture and one that I’m so happy to be a part of. I went from opening to headlining this night and it meant so much to me. I think it’s one of the best Friday nights you can ask for in LA”
