In addition to being the year of electronic music reunions and the year that the EDM bubble burst (probably), 2016 might also be shaping up to be the year of DJ documentaries. German electro house superstar Zedd is apparently the subject of such an endeavor that will premiere at this year’s edition of LA Film Festival.
The title of the upcoming documentary is True Colors, and it details Zedd’s creative process while putting together the 2015 album of its namesake. After the premiere, Zedd is set to participate in a Q&A alongside filmmakers Susan Bonds and Alex Lieu followed by a brief acoustic performance.
Last month saw the television debut of MTV Presents Martin Garrix: The Ride, which chronicled the Dutch icon’s life and rise to success. It turned out to be a lot more interesting than initially expected, so I’m a bit reluctant to write off True Colors just because it’s about the lesser of Zedd’s two studio albums.
LA Film Festival will take place from June 1st-9th, but the screening of Zedd‘s True Colors documentary itself will take place on the 2nd. For more information, visit the LA Film Festival website.
